Dan Bishop is not protecting our drinking water!
Dan Bishop voted in June to give Duke Energy eight years extra to remove toxic coal ash ponds aligned perilously close to sites like Mountain Island Lake, THE SOURCE OF OUR DRINKING WATER!
As Dan was making this vote, we were already dealing with arsenic in our water supply.
Why did Dan do this?
Dan took a $2000 check from Duke Energy PAC in February, months prior to his vote favoring Duke Energy.
Do we think Dan Bishop wants us to drink poisoned water? No, but his votes and his actions speak otherwise.
The cause and effect are unclear, but the reality is we still have coal ash pits next to our drinking water for eight more years.
Who is Dan serving Duke Energy or the citizens of Charlotte?
Cause: Dan Bishop cashed his Duke Energy PAC check in February.
Effect: Dan Bishop protected polluter Duke Energy with his vote in June - OVER OUR INTERESTS IN SAFE DRINKING WATER!
Effect: Coal ash will continue to contaminate the groundwater for eight more years because of Dan Bishop!
When it comes to our drinking water, Lloyd Scher's priorities couldn't be more different.
Unlike his opponent, Lloyd will use his votes in Raleigh to protect our drinking water.
